Restoration Projects
Take a look at our:-
1948 Bentley by Freestone & Webb Part 4
After some major problems getting the interior woodwork refurbished I have 'bitten the bullet' ,as they say. I have retrieved the woodwork from the people who were to repair the damage to the veneer and sent it to my usual chap in Devon who will totally restore it. We will have new Burr Walnut cross banded in African Mahogany - it is going to look stunning and I am assured that it will be ready only a fortnight after he receives it! So if you need your classic car's dashboard and door cappings reveneering and laquering to an extremely high standard ring Rupert at Grange Classic Cars.
The interior leatherwork is done but I need the door caps so that I can scribe the door cards to them, after which I can trim them in matching leather (my wife will be glad to see the four remaining hides depart from the living room). When the dashboard returns I can finish the wiring and install the instruments.
The car is starting to look fabulous as she reclaims her former glory. I need to fit the chromework now - bumpers, window frames, lights etc, and she will really brighten up. The end is finally in sight and I am looking forward to her first trip out on the road.
