We also took the opportunity to reinstate the chassic lubrication system to the steering and suspension as it had previously been unwisely replaced with grease nipples. To get it working every component had to be dismantled and the oil ways wahed out and blown through with compressed air to get all the grease out as it stopped the oil flowing.
The floor of the car proved to be rotten so complete new floors were made for the car using WBP Finnish Birch Ply. This will hopefully last another 60 years!
The headlining is now installed and new carpets have been cut from Ulster Velvet Weave, which is a top quality Wilton carpet. These are at the Upholsterers to have the edges bound in hide.
