We Got Our Just Desserts

A group of us got together to experience a dessert extravaganza at the KP Club the other night.  Linda and Valerie, of Monkey Food fame, organize a monthly competition for local chefs to create a mouth-watering dessert based on the monthly theme. This month was 'passion' which , as you can imagine, involved quite a lot of chocolate!

It was a fab night and everyone enjoyed it immensely. Steve Ramsden took his camera along and got some great pictures of the night - have a look on his blog http://steveramsdenweddingphotography.blogspot.com . Between the main course and the desserts we were treated to a display of passionate Flamenco dancing by the Dante Dames as an entree to the 'passionate' desserts.

There were some wonderfully talented chefs all from fantastic venues so, if you are a Bride looking for somewhere to hold your reception, we can vouch for the desserts!

In fact, I have suggested that it may be worth trying to put some sort of wedding slant on one event. For instance; brides getting married at the venues involved could perhaps have a dessert created by the chef specifically for their wedding reception? How cool would that be! Email and let me know what you think or contact Monkey Food on the number below.

The winners this time round were Inspiration of Beverley - fruit in a chilled champagne jelly that still had the bubbles in it! Your tongue just tingled whilst you ate it. They can also offer you a private dining experience at their premises in Beverley and I heartily recommend it. Niki and I are off to visit them on Saturday. In fact all the venues are great so why not treat yourself to one a month and cheer yourself out of the credit crunch.

Anyway, we are going to the next Monkey Food event which is at the Old Mill on the 29th March. So if your taste buds are tingling contact Linda or Val at Monkey Food on 07792 561772 or 07932 216205 respectively.

Remember - there are only forty tickets and I have just booked twelve of them!
